Wednesday
I don't seem to have enough time to do anything at the moment! I had friends over from Ireland this weekend, lots of nice food and plenty of wine! My little balcony garden is doing really well, in spite of the crazy weather, 23 degrees on Sunday, rain rain rain ever since. I've spotted a few green fly on my tomatoes and I am disgusted. I live on the 5th floor, how can they possibly know there was plants up that high?
I had an meeting yesterday with an event organiser, she spent more time playing with her puppy than talking to me, it was so distracting!

new tattoo
I took this image from Crayola Yellow's blog. I have been thinking of getting a new tattoo for a while now. I have a reddish brown bat on my back, that's meant to mean happiness and I have a dragon on my hip, I found out after I got it done was a fertility dragon...A girl I worked with had "Life is Terrific" on her wrist, which I thought was quite beautiful and concise.
I'd love to get a tattoo on my forearm, just past the crook of my elbow. But Love, on my wrist... It'll always be true

Mondays Child
I've had such a busy week, I went for a meal with my bf on Tuesday to a lovely thai place in Shepherds Bush, then we mooched back towards Camden afterwards. We stopped off for a drink just before Camden town and played pool for a while. I don't think it sounds very romantical, but I had such a lovely night!
I went to Newcastle for a work event last Wednesday, my my I am so happy I am not a student anymore! I had dinner with my bf and his friend on Thursday, and I took a sick day on Friday. I've had a cough for over a week now and it's just not shifting. I don't generally feel ill with it, but Friday morning I was so tired from coughing all night and I had a sore throat so I called in sick and slept til about half 12. I got up, sorted out bank stuff that I should have done about a month ago, then I went for a walk to Kentish Town city farm. I took loads of photos, which I still have to sort through (and post), the goats and hens were my favourite. I really really want my own garden! I have my little tubs on the balcony, but it's really not the same thing.
I went back to Dublin for the weekend, my Mum's birthday was on Saturday so we had a family dinner in the evening which was lovely, and I went to my cousin's communion on Saturday afternoon. So happy I don't live in Ireland, far too much distant family drama. I know it's very selfish, but there are a lot of family members I could take or leave seeing!
I got back to London yesterday evening, my lovely bf met me off the train and we went back to my place, he had candles set up in my room, food and wine in the fridge and treats all ready for me.

busy weekend
Primrose Hill
My little “garden” is looking quite well so far. On Saturday I got up early and arrived at Borough Market before 9 o clock. It was so clear and peaceful, all the traders were setting up but there were hardly any other people around. I wandered around the stalls without being bumped by crowds, cold morning air combined with the smell of bread, cheeses, chocolates and coffee was heavenly. I bought 2 tiny tomato plants, 1 yellow tomato plant, a strawberry plant, a little tub of thyme, a chilli plant and a packet of peas. Actually I thought I’d bought cherry tomatoes until I got home and discovered I had bought Shirley tomatoes, so all going well I will have a massive crop of tomatoes in about 2 months time. I got the tube up to Kentish town to collect some compost and plant pots and I even had time to pop into a charity shop for some wool-all this before half 9!
I planted everything except the thyme into 2 big pots and arranged them on my little balcony on the step ladder that lives out there along with old wine bottles and the mop. Then yesterday I found a metal chair with a blue painted seat by a skip. I nabbed it and carried it back to my apartment, so my “garden” is now perched on its own chair. I’m ridiculously pleased with it, but also slightly afraid the pigeons will steal any fruit that does grow! I’m determined to make the balcony into a little haven for the summer, it’s already south facing so it’s perfect for a little rooftop garden. {Photos of my efforts to follow}
I started knitting again last week; I’m so slow at it though! I’ve managed about 3 inches so far. I think my first piece will be ready around the end of next week. I’m flying to Dublin on Saturday, so I’m going to take my piece with me as travel entertainment.
I had a friend around for dinner last night (bread sticks, red wine, pizza and more red wine!) I told her about my new projects and she was as intrigued as I was! We went for a walk around primrose hill after dinner; it’s so nice to see someone’s reaction to a (not well known) place that you love! The houses look like they’re straight out of Peter Pan, lots of old trees and bicycles with baskets. We passed by Sylvie Plath’s house and my absolute dream house-photos to follow. Then we went to a pub that Mick and I were in on Sunday, candles and wooden floors and merlot (of course). I love the asymmetrical houses, the old combined with the new, tangled tree roots in the pavements, more candles in the windows. Asymmetry and the imperfect intrigue me. I think my obsession can be summed up with the following, “Who needs perfect anyway, it’s the cracks that let the light in”.

Silky hen
softly softly

.png)
These blossoms remind me of cold blue mornings and icy sunshine.
We went to see Bellx 1 last night, such a good gig and fantastic company.
Everything's so good now, sun is shining, I have a really nice dinner planned-lentils with coconut milk, garlic, chopped tomatoes, with fresh ginger and lime juice.... can't wait!
I cannot remember where I found these images, if the shots belongs to you, please let me know and I will tag it correctly
